"Bonbori" means a lantern made of paper, but originally this word comes from the Edo period and meant the foggy and blurred state, or blurred seeing.
Tone and light appear and disappear in a blurred way, one hears each instrument vaguely as one sees the beauty of the Japanese bowl lacquer in the dimly lit room.
